✍️ Sketch Along #8: Drawing Grandparents

✏️The last couple of weeks have been all over the place! So I haven’t been sharing what we’ve been drawing! But now, here are some sneak peeks at sketches from the past couple of sketch-alongs!! These are from our pets and hand drawing sketch-alongs.✏️

✏️What are we drawing?

This week we are drawing…

Grandparents! Sweet grandparents. Kind grandparents. Wacky grandparents? Skateboarding grandparents??

Grandparents come in all shapes, sizes, and ages, but they’re always a warm welcome to a children’s book portfolio. There are so many grandparent-centric kid’s books out there so don’t limit yourself by not drawing them! So that’s why we’re practicing drawing G-mamas, Papas, and Meme’s in our sketch-along this week.

✏️Drawing references?

We’ll be referencing from…

Pinterest, stock photo sites, and internet archives! You could really go anywhere to get good grandparent reference material; I would recommend going for a search yourself! If you’re able, try and raid your own photo collection for some personal inspiration as well :)

A little doodle I made a while ago portraying EXACTLY what I want to look like as a grandparent.

Make sure to bring along your detail-oriented art supplies. I’m bringing along my colored pencils and my paint sticks for a pop of color!
