✍️ Sketch Along #1: Drawing Kids
Big announcement!! Our first VIP sketch-along is happening this Thursday and other details below.
✏️What are we drawing?
Kids! Kiddos! Los niños. I thought the best way to start our sketch-along series is by drawing something that is a must-have in a children’s illustration portfolio: children!
✏️Drawing references?
I’m a child of the 90s, so we’ll be referencing…
MOVIES! Home Alone, E.T., The Goonies. I love sketching from movies because unlike photo references, you can view characters from multiple angles, running around, climbing up trees, riding bikes; the character sketching possibilities are endless! And I probably spent 95% of my childhood watching movies, so it’s time that hard work finally paid off.
I’m compiling a stack of classic movie references, which we’ll be using for some fun, adventurous sketching! :)
The day before, I’ll add the references to the Discord sketch-along channel so you can continue practicing before and after our meetup. If you haven’t joined the TIAC Discord group (there are LOADS of channels to start a chat in), please sign up using the link at the bottom of this email!
✏️Where are we drawing?
